If you've been in the real estate industry long, you know there's always something changing. Whether it's a new law, a changing market, or just changing styles, it's always important to be informed and keep track of what's up-and-coming.

If you're wondering where to look first, we've rounded up a few resources for you to check out so you can stay in the know.


Organizations

There are numerous real estate organizations out there to keep you connected and informed. The Georgia Association of Realtors  provides educational classes both in the classroom and on-line, and their website offers various articles and research including statewide housing statistics published every month. Check out their schedule of classes here and you can also sign up for the Georgia Realtor magazine published seasonally.
Local county organization are also a great way to continue learning and be in-the-know. The Cobb Association of Realtors provides continuing education classes, and local networking events provide an opportunity to discuss new market trends with other professionals.

Real Estate News

If you can't make it out to a class or event, you can still learn from your couch!
There are some great real estate news sources out there to keep you up-to-date about the neighborhood.
Curbed Atlanta has everything from local listings to new developments and plans in and around the metro area. The site also discusses happenings that can affect real estate and may be of interest to your clients such as transportation, local sports, and mapped activities around the area.
Realty Times is a great place for advice for homeowners, sellers, and agents alike. If your clients are worried about a particular step in the process, there is likely an advice column that can give them some peace-of-mind and a few ideas about what the can expect or what they should do. Market conditions are also reported, and local professionals can submit their own market observations about their neighborhood for others.

Conferences and Events 

Couch surfing is great and convenient, but it never hurts to get out the door, go to an event, and talk to others about what their seeing out there in the neighborhood. From local marketing and social events with real estate organization to large-scale trade shows, conferences and events are a central hub of learning.
One of the largest, the Southeast Residential Real Estate Trade Show, happens right here at the Cobb Galleria, just a few steps from the Perrie & Associates office! With more than 160 booths featuring local real estate vendors and professionals and over 10 seminars throughout the day, the showcase is a great place to learn about what's up-and-coming in the market and get advice and make connections.
The Georgia Association of Realtors also hosts an annual conference in September with classes and speakers, and there are plenty of events throughout Atlanta to attend!
