FMLS Showcase 2018




We're only one day away from one of the biggest real estate events of the year - the 2018 FMLS Trade Show!

The Southeast Residential Real Estate Trade Show is tomorrow, August 23 from 9:30 to 4:30 at the Cobb Galleria, and we here at Perrie & Associates could not be more excited at this event!

The event brings together realtors, real estate professionals, and other affiliated industries for a day of networking and learning.

More than 3,000 industry professionals are expected to attend this year's event and over 140 industry vendors will be represented at the show. National and regional speakers will be in attendance to discuss timely issues facing the industry, making this a great opportunity for those working in real estate.

For this year's 18th annual show, technology use in the industry will be a primary focus.

More than 15 presenters will hit the stage covering various topics ranging from market stat apps to home staging, and with three theaters running simultaneously, there is always something to learn.

Mark Toro, founder and President of North American Properties, is this year's keynote speaker and will be discussing the "secret sauce" needed to create communities.

"From the repositioning of Atlanta Station and redevelopment of Colony Square to the development of Avalon and Revel, [Toro's] team of 'Experience Makers' redefines how community is created to respond to today's consumer. [Toro] will share what goes into assuring that NAP's properties lead the industry in value creation, both economic and social."

In addition, Mary Hess will demonstrate and discuss market stat tools and apps that can help you become the local housing expert, and Sean Moss will help agents solve their buyer's number one problem of a down payment.

The trade show will also be plugged into technology this year with the Socio App, that will send out networking and event announcements throughout the day.

With all of the educational, networking and business opportunities, it is clear to see why so many call the FMLS Showcase "Hands down - the best trade show value in the real estate market - anywhere!"

Tickets to the showcase are $10 if purchased by August 22, and $15 on the day of the show with proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity.

The How and Why of Home Appraisals

  There's no question that the housing market this year has been upended. Low inventory and high demand have created bidding wars the likes of which we've never seen, and buyers are being forced to waive contingencies that offer protection in the home buying process.  One of these protections is the home appraisal. According to HomeLight , issues with the appraisal accounted for 27% of delayed contracts, and 14% of terminated contracts as of July 2021. Though the market may try to force buyers to push the appraisal away and pay with cash, it's important to understand the appraisal process and consider it carefully.  What is a home appraisal?  According to NerdWallet , a home appraisal is an estimation of the home's value, as determined by a licensed appraiser.
