FMLS Showcase



It's August, and the stage is set for one of the biggest real estate events of the year - the FMLS Showcase!

The Southeast Residential Real Estate Trade Show is August 24 from 9:30 to 4:30 at the Cobb Galleria, and we here at Perrie & Associates could not be more excited at this event!

The even brings together realtors, real estate professionals, and other affiliated industries for a day of networking and learning.

More than 3,000 industry professionals are expected to attend this year's event and over 140 industry vendors will be represented at the show. National and regional speakers will be in attendance to discuss timely issues facing the industry, making this a great opportunity for those working in real estate.

For this year's 17th annual show, technology use in the industry will be a primary focus.

"Technology is increasingly at the forefront of our daily business and lives. This year's trade show will highlight all areas of our industry, from prospecting and market data to creative business strategies and using technology on the fly."

More than 15 presenters will hit the stage covering various topics ranging from flipping houses to client software, and with three theaters running simultaneously, there is always something to learn.

Rob Parker, President of Pinewood Communities, is this year's keynote speaker, and he will be discussing what it takes to build a remarkable community.

"Rob Parker is working with Chief Visionary Dan Cathy to build a remarkable New Urbanist community directly adjacent tot he second largest purpose built firm studio in North America - Pinewood Atlanta Studios. Rob will share how the team at Pinewood Forrest is designing an urban, walk-able, sustainable community that is attracting the next generation of storytellers and creatives."

In addition, Joi Hardiman will discuss how to analyze your listings with statistics, Eric Glauner will show agents a new system to schedule showings, Sallie Mobley will discuss the FMLS mobile option for on-the-go agents, and Eric Stegemann will dig behind a Realtor's personal goals and how to trul achieve them.

With all of the educational, networking and business opportunities, it is clear to see why so many call the FMLS Showcase "Hands down - the best trade show value in the real estate market - anywhere!"

Tickets to the showcase are $10 if purchased by August 23, and $15 on the day of the show. All proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity Atlanta.

The How and Why of Home Appraisals

  There's no question that the housing market this year has been upended. Low inventory and high demand have created bidding wars the likes of which we've never seen, and buyers are being forced to waive contingencies that offer protection in the home buying process.  One of these protections is the home appraisal. According to HomeLight , issues with the appraisal accounted for 27% of delayed contracts, and 14% of terminated contracts as of July 2021.
