A Final Farewell - Real Estate Radio Atlanta ends after 5 years

An era in radio is coming to an end, as Real Estate Radio Atlanta's final show will air this Sunday.

The show, hosted by Susan Pryor and David Perrie, has aired on News Radio 106.7 every Sunday for the past five years, bringing together hard-working, industry professionals to discuss the real estate market and educate the consumer on their most important investment, their home.

In 2013, Susan Pryor, Branch Manager of Benchmark Mortgage in East Cobb, started the show after learning about the Real Estate Radio Network, a nationwide group of realtors dedicated to "delivering the timely truth" about local markets over the radio.

She flew out to San Diego to learn more about, liked the idea, and brought it back to Georgia.

"Susan called me up one day and said she was starting a radio show," David Perrie said. "She told me I was going to be on it, and I said 'okay', and she said 'no, you're going to be on it every week', so I said "Yes mam."

The team started recording in 2013, and the show has been going strong ever since.

"When we first started, I only thought it may last a year or two," David said. "I had no idea we would be on the air for five years."

Real Estate Radio Atlanta has hosted countless guests reaching all across the industry from financial advisers, home inspectors, appraisers, realtors, pest inspectors, mortgage brokers, engineers and insurance agents. Each show featured the hosts, guests from Benchmark Mortgage, and two special guests, not to mention everyone working behind the scenes to keep the show running.

"I have a lot of fun memories joking with the staff, our guests, and everyone who worked to put on the show," David said. "Our guest Realtors were some of the top producers, and everyone was a hard worker who was very focused. It was great to see what brought them success. I learned a lot from them."

Throughout the years, the show has discussed a variety of topics to what consumers need, to the changes the market has seen. It has been dedicated to providing accurate and helpful advice and information about the local real estate market.

"I think the show brought a greater awareness of what is needed to make a real estate transaction successful," said David.

As their businesses continue to grow, both David and Susan felt it was best to end the show. The final episode of Real Estate Radio Atlanta will air this Sunday, January 28, at noon on News Radio 106.7.

"It has been a whole lot of fun doing something that is completely different than what I normally do," David said. "While I'm glad to have my half day back each week, I am sad to see it come to an end."
